Large country house conditioned as a country hotel in the hamlet of A
Pedreira near the village of Teixeiro, approximately 50 mins drive from
Santiago and La Coruña, this is a rural area with lots of fields and
famous for its cheese “Tetilla”.
The owners restored this building to convert it into a hotel. he
property has been restored with good taste and it’s practically ready
to work as a hotel, included in the price is all the furniture which is
of good quality.
The hotel is reached through a small country road, very little traffic.
Surrounded by fields and very near the river Mandeo, there is a farm
nearby and next to the hotel there are a couple of old houses up for
sale. The property is enclosed by a stone wall and electric gates with
intercom, access is controlled from inside the house. As you enter
there is a parking area, constructed in a rustic manner, combines well
with the house. There is a path that leads to the house which lights up
at night, there is also a well, a fountain and a Horreo (Galician
granary) which needs finishing. Dotted around the hotel there are
various stone troughs to be used for planting flowers.
On the ground floor as you enter the hotel there is a reception and a
double room in case there are any disabled guests. To the right there
is a guest area with plenty of chairs and sofas, also a large
traditional Galician fireplace (lareira) with a few traditional
features like the large cooking pot. There is also a complete kitchen
fitted with stainless steel appliances and worktops. There is a large
dining area with all the furniture and a bread oven which can be used
for roasts and pizzas. What makes this area stand out is the large
windows with views of the area at the back of the hotel and
countryside, the room is very bright.
In the basement area there is another large room which needs finishing,
the owners intended to put another private dining area for intimate
occasions, there is also a specially designed room for the
fridge-freezers, a laundry room, 2 WC’s for guests and a spare room.
From the reception area a set of wooden stairs leads to the top floor
where there are a further 6 double bedrooms, all furnished and with
bathrooms. All mattresses are fireproof, all have views to the
countryside. As you can see from the photographs there are nice details
in the decoration of the property, including antique style radiators
and light switches.
At the back of the property there is an unfinished swimming pool and
plenty of land, in total there is around 10.000 m2 and the possibility
of acquiring more. There is also planning permission to build another
small house for personnel.
